This project continues the dialogue I have been cultivating with the spirit through the “stone” and the forces embodied within it. It follows “Magnetic rock” (2021) and deepens my ongoing exploration of the connection between myself and stones — a process of learning through painting and expanding into other mediums such as animation, projection, and movement. “Conversation with a Rock” is the title I gave to this path, inspired by Wisława Szymborska’s poem. It came into being in 2023 in Ein Hod, just before October 7th and the outbreak of the war. The “stone” guided me to develop a “conversation” — an open channel that allows my frequencies to resonate through painting, animation, and projection on the body, combined with the vibration of sound. Through collaborations and the integration of programming and sound technologies within an organic stone-built environment, my private experience becomes embedded in the tangible world — transformed into a shared experience for those who enter it. The project includes a large oil painting on canvas (the second in the “Large Stones” series), and the creation of interactive and responsive sound and projection installations presented in my solo exhibition “Conversation with a Stone: Continuous Present” at the Janco-Dada Museum, curated by Nitzan Shuvall-Avivri: “The exhibition unfolded across three spaces within the museum, paving a viewing experience that invites visitors to delve deeper into the show — from the entrance space, through the video work in the intermediate layer, and into the heart of the museum — the pit, where the responsive work ‘Conversation with a Stone’ is presented.”
